Secure DACS Platform
The DACS has been upgraded to a fully-embedded product that has no operating system and no shell or console. The user only has access to the Model Builder user interface (read only) and cannot gain access to the computer. This allows customers to securely configure the DACS offline, and provides ease of use while meeting security requirements.
The system does not require the use of a hard drive, floppy drive, keyboard or mouse. The system operates through a compact flash drive and bay. The bootable compact flash contains everything needed to run the entire application. A keyboard and monitor can optionally be connected to view the Model Builder application, and make temporary changes.
Model and file management is now performed offline by removing the compact flash module and inserting it into a secure Windows XP platform where the user can:
Converting a Standard DACS into a Secure DACS
In order to support our existing customer base of DACS platforms ASTi is offering 3 tiers of service to convert a standard DACS platform into a secure DACS platform.
See the links in the right-hand sidebar for additional DACS-related information.
The Secure DACS platform runs on Secure Model Builder (SMB) 4.09M or later. If you are running an older version of Model Builder software you will have to upgrade to this version. Depending on the version of software you may be required to upgrade the model to run on SMB 4.09M+.
The Secure DACS upgrade kit also requires a hardware modification to the platform. We require that you provide ASTi with the serial number and configuration of the DACS in question. This will help to minimize risk with the upgrade to a Secure DACS platform.
