Some tasks and responsibilities include:

• Work to design an embedded voice distribution processing platform
• Create low level firmware for embedded DSP/ARM
• Implement Voice Compression algorithms for efficient bandwidth utilization.
• Create real time network interface for voice distribution
• Design Analog front end electronics for mic/headset and speakers
• Custom interfaces using FPGA's
• Understand cost implications in the design.

Technologies you will be exposed to include:

• Packetized Voice over IP
• DSP/Signal processing
• Hard Real Time programming
• Real time voice transmission over various media (Ethernet, Firewire, USB)
• Embedded systems design
