Telestra 1U Chassis Under the Hood

Under the hood of the new Telestra is a robust, ASTi-developed, low-latency, isochronous Linux OS guaranteeing superior networking performance and synchronous, real-time operation in a distributed environment. Combined with our unique Hydra file system, the user can now create, map, reproduce, run, and monitor sound and communications models on any asset on the network. Couple all this with a high-performance, top-of-the-line Pentium 4 processor, and you have all the components to meet the demanding nature of today's (and tomorrow's) complex communications modeling and network applications.

Why Linux?

Unlike Windows, Linux provides the flexibility to tweak, tune, add, and modify the OS at the lowest level so we can guarantee the performance, capabilities, and features you need, when you need them. There is no dependency on someone else's approach, which might not fit with the unique requirements of the simulation and training industry. No "Oh, well" when the system locks up and there is no way to fix the problem. No waiting for the next driver release or the fingers crossed "I hope they fix that". And no "Oops, that OS is no longer supported" over the long life of your production programs (or even your one-offs).
