Two or three years ago, even though ASTi was the major supplier of network communication platforms to the other arms of the U.S. military, outside of DMOC, we were almost unknown within the U.S. Air Force. Today that picture has changed dramatically.
In the first 10 months of 2004, ASTi has received more than 45 purchase orders directly from the USAF, or DoD contractors working on USAF programs. These orders cover a total of over 130 DACS systems and more than 45 Telestra platforms for USAF programs.
Not bad for a company that does not employ a single salesman or marketeer but relies on word-of-mouth from satisfied users, eh?
Programs involved in these orders:
43 DACS and 32 Telestras on various F-15 programs, including:
- F-15 Personal Computer Aircrew Training Devices (PCATD) - 25 systems
- F-15C Training Devices - 13 systems
- F-15C Threat Stations - 6 systems
- F-15E Mission Training Center (MTC) - 23 systems
- Various other F-15 training initiatives - 8 systems
The total number of DACS jumps to 48 if the five systems being developed for F-15K Training Devices (S. Korea) are taken into account.
48 DACS and 8 Telestras on various F-16 training programs, including:
- F-16C Training Devices - 25 systems
- F-16 Debrief Stations - 9 systems
- F-16 Mission Training Center (MTC) - 22 systems
22 DACS and 5 Telestras on miscellaneous other USAF training and simulation applications, including:
- CV-22 Flight Training Device (FTD) - 3 systems
- T-38 Training Devices - 9 systems
- B-52 Comms & Audio Upgrades - 10 systems
- B-52 Offensive Station Mission Trainer (OSMT) - 1 system
- KC-10 Training Device - 1 system
- KC-130 Training Device - 1 system
- RC-135 Training Device - 1 system
- B-1 Training Device - 1 system
ASTi was also chosen to supply 17 DACS and Telestra systems to multiple locations throughout the USA in support of the USAF's participation in various networked communications exercises.
Hanscom AFB received equipment for use in Joint Distributed Engineering Plant (JDEP). The Joint Combat Identification Evaluation Team (JCIET) at Eglin AFB ordered 6 new systems for use in U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) applications. The USAF's Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC), Kirtland AFB, added 10 new systems to their growing list of ASTi equipment for use in Control and Reporting Center (CRC) Simulation Packages (CSP) and Next Generation Threat Systems (NGTS). The total number of DACS at the DMOC is now well over 40 systems.
ASTi also saw new equipment orders and software upgrades for the Air Force Research Lab as well as Nellis, Barksdale, Schriever, and Buckley Air Force Bases.
It has long been our motto that satisfied customers are our best sales force. Our corporate focus has always been upon trying to solve the customer's problems by providing a responsive team of engineers to work with customers in the belief that doing the right thing will lead to follow-on orders and make us a successful company. We feel that this approach has been vindicated by shipment of over 2,700 system since the company's inception.
