September 9, 2005 – ASTi recently delivered two (2) 8-net Synapse Radio-Data Network Bridges and eight (8) 8-Operator/16-net Synapse Workstation systems to the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) at Ft. Polk, LA. This delivery was installed at the Brigade/Battalion Simulation Center under contract with AEgis Technologies, and is their latest Battle Command Training Center (BCTC) fielding. The JRTC installation follows previous large-scale Synapse installations at Forts Wainwright and Richardson in Alaska.

The Simulation Center is used to train U.S. Army personnel including the 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, “one of the Army’s new Brigade Combat Teams Unit of Action (BCT/UA).”* Training involves live assets in the field, virtual assets such as UAVs, and other remote military installations all communicating together during a single exercise.

In the future, the Simulation Center will be able to host other groups (such as Police, SWAT, Emergency Response Teams) and train them for scenarios involving evacuations, communications, and asset management.
