B-1 DMO Upgrades to HLA

ASTi will upgrade a stand-alone B-1 bomber Weapon Systems Trainer (WST) to add DIS and HLA network capability under contract with Rockwell Collins Training and Simulation. Order delivery included one (1) Digital Audio Communication System (DACS) and one (1) Telestra platform shipped to Rockwell Collins’ Sterling, VA facility.
Initial system deployment and testing will be performed at the Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC, Kirtland AFB) as part of the U.S. Air Force’s push to add supplemental aircraft platform simulators to its already successful DMO program. The contract also included a training course and custom model development, both provided by ASTi.

Latest AVCATT-A Contract Award

Continuing its support of the U.S. Army’s Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer-Aviation Reconfigurable Manned Simulator (AVCATT-A) program, ASTi received the latest contract award from prime contractor L-3 Communications (Arlington, TX). ASTi will ship a total of 27 Digital Audio Communication Systems (DACS), 72 Remote Interface Units (RIUs), and 24 simulated SINCGARS radio control panels across three delivery dates spanning the Summer and Fall of 2005.

JSTARS Trainer Upgrades

Through Rockwell Collins Training and Simulation (Sterling, VA), ASTi was selected to upgrade two Joint Surveillance and Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS/Joint STARS) training devices. Existing ASTi hardware in both the Weapon Systems Trainer (WST) and Navigator Training System (NTS) at Robins AFB, GA received software upgrades to add networked simulation capability. Prior to these upgrades, both simulators could only operate in isolation; ASTi’s model upgrades add the ability for both systems to work in concert during networked training exercises.
