Old Support Contract Funds New Upgrades

The USAF 19th Special Operations Squadron (SOS) contacted ASTi to ask about expanding the scope of their upgrades to the AC-130U Weapons System Trainer (WST) at Hurlburt Field, FL. ASTi had just shipped systems to add Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) and EWO instructor/observer training stations, but contractor Lockheed Martin requested eight (8) additional EW audio input channels.
ASTi delivered its first systems for this AC-130U WST program in 1997. In 2000, the trainer received a complete overhaul, and Lockheed initially funded its ASTi support contract at that time. Five years later, ASTi will provide its third round of training for Hurlburt Field personnel, and assist with the reconfiguration of WST’s complex model. The additional input channels, training and model support will all be fully funded by unused hours under Lockheed’s original support contract.
How's that for flexible, long-term support?

PEO STRI M&DC2

ASTi supplied additional DACS systems and hardware peripherals, along with technical and on-site integration support to PEO STRI for its expanding Multicell & Dismounted Command and Control (M&DC2) program. ASTi systems provide the M&DC2 facility with networked, high-fidelity, simulated radio and intercom communications for experiments involving up to 60 operator positions.

Czech Sim Center Upgrades

ASTi was contracted to provide additional equipment to an existing installation at the Czech Army Simulation Center, in Vyskov, Czech Republic. The expansion included adding a DACS to provide an additional 12 operators with DIS simulated radio capabilities. See also: Czech Sim Center program example.
