The Joint Virtual Training Special Event (JVTSE) is a special focus event designed to build upon the 2004 JVTSE training exercise demonstrations, and will demonstrate Live, Virtual and Constructive Networking at a Joint Level. The event is being captured and broadcast via live webcast and will be available online after the I/ITSEC tradeshow.

This year’s event has grown to include over 60 showfloor booths, and in excess of 100 live, simulation and training systems. The event will also integrate several remote sites including the Pentagon and the Virginia Advanced Shipbuilding and Carrier Integration Center (VASCIC).

ASTi, as the leading provider of networked communication systems to all branches of the services, was a natural partner to be solicited as a team member for this exercise, and our return for the second year was a testament to our successful participation in the previous year. Working closely with the Technical Working group over a period of months leading up to the show, ASTi has contributed many man-hours of technical and site support, and equipment toward the greater goal of ensuring the JVTSE is a success. This year ASTi has provided approximately 15 loaner systems to support participants without existing communications capability.

ASTi is providing the use of the Radio Diagnostic Tool (RDT) to remotely configure and manage both our heavy-duty DACS and Telestra multi-seat systems, and the one-seat PC’ver. ASTi will also provide a live off-air feed from the network at our booth (#559) providing the capability to listen in on the scenario as it happens.

Participants of the JVSTE exercises are highlighted in green and yellow on the I/ITSEC floorplan below. ASTi is the leading communications provider by providing 90% of the communication and aural cue simulation used during the exercises.
