Dec 06, 2010 – On December 6, 2010, ASTi shipped the company's 6,000th system since its incorporation in 1989.

The 6,000th system was part of a 93-system shipment to L-3 Communications, Link Simulation and Training. The final destination for the equipment is Hill Air Force Base in northern Utah for the facility's suite of F-16C Aircrew Training Devices (ATD).

These new Telestra 4 ACE systems will replace ASTi DACS and Model Builder systems, some of which were purchased in 1994. The 16-year life cycle of this program affirms ASTi's commitment and support to ongoing production programs.

While these F-16 applications previously required multiple DACS systems, the new Telestra 4 ACE platform combines the simulated communications and aural cue models into a single-box solution. The installation also includes ASTi's terrain interface software package, which provides occulting, ranging, and degradation effects in the ACE radio environment. L-3 also purchased ASTi's diskless client software package to satisfy the installation's multi-level security requirements.
