Serious Radios for Serious Games

ASTi recently released a version of its Voisus^® software-based communications client which integrates directly into Bohemia Interactive's Virtual Battlespace 2 (VBS2^TM) three-dimensional, interactive training system. Via the Synapse Voisus Server product, VBS2 users worldwide can now enjoy the benefits of ASTi's high-fidelity radio simulation directly inside the game.

To provide ease-of-use and preclude users from having to switch applications to control advanced radio features, ASTi merged its Voisus communication facilities with the VBS2 infrastructure. The Voisus client operates on the customer's computer, while processor-intensive radio modeling and simulation is offloaded to a central server. The Voisus client is tightly integrated with VBS2, and launches automatically with the game.
