ASTi Newswire FAQ
Why did ASTi change the subscription process?
The old Newswire subscription method was implemented years ago, before the advent of the horrible "spambot". It recently became apparent to our Newswire administrator that some person or "spambot" was submitting email addresses for people that didn't opt-in for the service.
Because ASTi is committed to not sending unsolicited email ("spam"), we implemented this two-step process to guard against that possibility.
I was already subscribed, so why must I do it again?
To be safe, we've asked all previously-subscribed people to confirm that they do want to receive the Newswire by contacting the Administrator directly, or by signing up again through the website.
If you do not wish to receive the Newswire, then do not respond to the email sent by the Administrator, and you will be removed from the list.
Why two steps? How does it work?
After submitting your email address, ASTi's website will generate a random subscription ID, and email it to the address you provided. This does two things:
What kind of information is included in Newswire emails?
The ASTi Newswire emails you'll receive usually contain three or four recent news items. At times, we'll notify you of updated support material, like a newly-released or updated manual or application note. In the months approaching the I/ITSEC tradeshow (starting around September), we'll also include information about ASTi as an exhibitor, our booth location, etc.
Of course, from time to time, we'll host a small contest of some sort, and Newswire subscribers are always the first to know about it. We'll usually award a stylish ASTi polo shirt to the winner(s); they're the pinnacle of audio and communications simulation fashion.
How often are Newswire emails sent?
We usually let the Newswire administrator out of the dungeon about once every two weeks to construct and distribute an email. On rare occasions, you may receive two Newswire emails in one week. Then again, you may only receive one per month. It all depends on how much exciting stuff is going on here at ASTi.
Rest assured, your email "Inbox" will not be flooded with email from the Newswire.
What happens to email addresses collected by ASTi?
Our Newswire administrator adds them to ASTi's internal mailing list. That's it.
The information is not kept on our web server. The admin. is the only person at ASTi with access to the list. ASTi will never provide your email address to anyone, even if they want to pay us. We'd rather earn our money the right way, and that means respecting our customers' privacy.
How do I unsubscribe from the Newswire?
Unsubscribe at any time by sending an email to newswire@asti-usa.com with the word "unsubscribe" anywhere in the subject or body of your email. Easy.
Newswire Point of Contact
If you ever have any problems or questions about the Newswire service, send an email to newswire@asti-usa.com, or contact the Newswire administrator directly.
