Radio FAQs

I want to determine the network id of the transmitting radio which my radio is currently receiving, how do I do this?

The solution involves the connection of several objects. The first of which is the Signal Function object found on the Controls list under the Math Function submenu. Connect the radio or receiver object to the Signal connection point in this object. Use the +/- keys to toggle through the function field (in blue) until InTuneID appears.
The Signal Function object may be connected to an Output Float object and sent to a host computer.
The receiving radio puts out a receiver pdu which contains the DIS ID numbers of the transmitter it is listening to. If the DIS_Bridge function is enabled these receiver pdus can be bridged to the host interface and sent directly to the user's host computer. This results in the receiver pdus being sent out both the DIS and Host Ethernet connections on the DACS. This option should be used with some thought since it may be possible to load up the host Ethernet with DIS traffic such that it begins to affect the desired host data transfer performance.
