Radio FAQs

I want my radio position to move with a network entity, how do I do this?

For DIS use the Entity Attach object, which is found on the World Position submenu of the Controls list. Populating this object with the necessary fields (site, host, entity IDs) and connecting it to the World Position field of a radio, transmitter or receiver will cause it to move with a network entity. If the network entity is not present then the Entity Attach object will resort to the values contained in the Default Position field.
Note: Monitor Radios and net intercom objects will not move with network entity objects. These objects use DIS world positions for identification purposes only and do not use or require ranging effects.
For those of you who need to implement this in HLA see the ASTi application note #52: "Entity Attachment Over HLA".
