What is the maximum number of channels available from a single DACS?

A DACS running the TDM/RIU DSP architecture can be used to provide up to 24 channels per card, and three cards may be fitted to a DACS giving a theoretical maximum of 72 operators on one platform.
Although this number is theoretically possible it is not likely to be ever deployed on a single system shipped out by ASTi. Our preferred approach to handling systems with a high channel count is to split them up into a number of networked platforms, this providing an equal balance of additional DSP and CPU processing resource, and indeed we have certainly shipped systems with this number of operators (and higher) using a number of networked platforms.
