What format do my sound files need to be for MBV/Telestra systems?

Sound files should be standard 16-bit PCM MONO wave files, i.e. not ADPCM. The sample rate must also match the model’s sample rate, either 16kHz or 48kHz.
Often times, Windows programs give you the ability to convert to a number of different WAV formats. Here is a list of those formats typically found:
Format Filename
A/mu-law name.wav
ACM Waveform name.wav
DVI/IMA ADPCM name.wav
Microsoft ADPCM name.wav
Windows PCM name.wav
… and possibly even other formats.
As you can see, just looking at a file’s name and extension, it’s impossible to discern which format WAV file it is. Therefore, it is imperative that you select the “Windows PCM” format when converting for proper playback in MBV. To convert a file, choose “File” > “Save As…” and navigate to the drop down list labeled “Save as Type”. From here, select Windows PCM (*.wav) and name the file.
