ASTi Training Course Info
Some form of hands-on training course is strongly recommended for any customer who intends to utilize the full capability of the ASTi DACS, Telestra 3 MBV, Telestra 4 ACE or Synapse 4 Product Suite. Due to the large variety and complexity of the problems which are addressed by ASTi solutions, it is very difficult to master all the capabilities of the product suite without some overview instruction from people who work with it every day.
Depending on program complexity, we offer a variety of training course options including 2, 3, 4 or even a 5-day Developer's Training course. The first two days of any training course involve hands-on hardware and software familiarization. During the additional third through fifth days of training, the ASTi engineer will provide over-the-shoulder assistance in developing a custom model for the customer's specific application.
Free Training Course
A two-day, generic training course is available at no charge, but a limit of two persons per organization is imposed. This course is limited to six attendees total. The primary objective is to instruct first-time ASTi users in configuring a simple custom model that includes both aural cueing and a networked radio communication environment.
Custom Training Course
For organizations that intend to create their own custom model for the first time, we recommend the custom training course. This course covers the same basic information as the generic course, but focuses on the specifics of the customer application. It will generally result* in a first-cut, custom model for the customer's specific application. This course is limited to customer personnel only, and no more than four attendees (two to three recommended) may attend. The charge for this course is $4,000 at ASTi's facility in Herndon, Virginia. On-site training courses are available for $6,000 plus travel & subsistence expenses billed at cost.
* This is assuming a single-vehicle model, not a comprehensive multi-vehicle complex.
A syllabus for the standard topics is shown below, but the course structure is strictly informal, and will typically vary according to the interests and experience of the attendees.
