Record & Replay
Record and replay of audio is an integral part of simulated training exercises today. Whether for after action review or simulating the recall function of a communications panel, ASTi is your solution. During an exercise, ACE software allows the user to record multiple audio streams including voice traffic, radio sounds, and environmental noises. The ACE Record and Replay component allows for real time playback by recording directly to the Telestra hard drive. As a result, record times are only limited by the size of Telestra hard drive.
Some of the features include:
  • Multiple independent record and playback channels
  • Simultaneous Record and Playback
  • Last "n" minutes continuous recordings
  • Flexible selection of audio streams to record
  • Controls to integrate with other simulation recordings, such as the visual system
Interested in Record Replay for your system? Here are some FAQs to help you get started.
Q: How long can I record for?
A: The only limit on recording time is the hard drive size. Several customers are already doing recordings of 8 and 12 hours without issue. The Telestra also supports several different record rates, allowing for longer recordings that use less space.
Q: Do I need a Telestra for playback? Can I play the recordings on my own computer?
A: The Telestra comes equipped with commands that can convert the recordings into a WAV file format, allowing users to play back files on their own systems or other After Action Review software. Users can write scripts which convert the files and move them to another location in order to automate the process.
Q: Can I record and playback at the same time?
A: Yes, the Telestra lets users record an audio stream and playback from that stream simultaneously.
Q: Can I use record and replay with my network storage device such as iSCSI or SAN?
A: Absolutely, the Telestra can be configured to write to another storage device on the network. Each customer often has their own unique configuration for network storage. Contact ASTi for details on how to set up your configuration.
