Telestra HLA Features
Telestra HLA incorporates ASTi's proven, feature-rich radio simulation and communications environment with the evolving HLA architecture, offering a variety of useful features.
A complete radio simulation and communications Simulation Object Model (SOM) and required support files are included for easy incorporation into a program's Federation Object Model (FOM). The SOM is optimized for efficient performance and takes full advantage of HLA by allowing the incorporation of feature enhancements while maintaining backward compatibility. Additionally, an agile FOM interface provides a high degree of flexibility, and minimizes support effort for customer-specific FOM requirements.
Dynamic entity-attach capabilities provide radio "attachment" to any HLA-based entity. This allows radios to move within the simulated environment, and achieve the proper communications simulation based on simulated geophysical location.
All of ASTi's standard radio communications simulation features such as propagation, bandwidth modeling, jamming, frequency hopping, secure, terrain, tactical data link, HF/ALE, SATCOM and more are supported with Telestra HLA.
Multiple RTI support provides greater program and installation flexibility and ASTi's established RTI vendor relationships help us help our customers sort out the complexities of the HLA environment.
Back channel audio support not only allows users to adjust processing load and RTI burden but provides users with open intercom and communications channels regardless of Federation state.
Multiple federation support enhances training exercise scalability by allowing users to run multiple federations simultaneously without interference.
Network Time Protocol (NTP) services provide ability to synch HLA based communications and data with the rest of the network simulation.
When used with ASTi's DACS equipment, each Telestra HLA system can be configured to support multiple DACS platforms (RTI-load dependent), simplifying site upgrades and equipment footprint. In addition, the high performance, rugged, rackmount chassis guarantees maximum performance and reliability. A removable hard drive is included for archive and security consideration.
The Telestra HLA Remote Control Interface allows host computers to remotely contact and operate the Telestra HLA environment. Features such as joining or resigning a federation, selecting RID and FED files, obtaining status, and shutdown/restart allow flexible control from anywhere on the network.
The Telestra HLA unit can also be configured to connect directly to either local simulation/administration or HLA networks, making the unit adaptable to most any network configuration. This allows the flexibility to control communication models and the Telestra unit via either network. Firewall-like setup also allows the user to specify what features and controls are available on each network.
ASTi's browser based Remote Management Software (included with each Telestra) provides easy status-check, troubleshooting, and configuration of network interfaces, the remote control interface, DACS interfaces (if applicable), and installation and configuration of the RTI libraries and associated configuration files.
