IA Product Specifications
This document outlines the terms and conditions for ASTi's Information Assurance (IA) Maintenance Program. The Software License Agreement for ASTi Systems also applies in conjunction with these provisions. The Software License Agreement (SWLA) and ASTi Terms and Conditions govern payment terms, termination provisions, warranty disclaimers, intellectual property rights, and general provisions.
Definitions
The following terms have specific meanings within the context of this document and the IA Maintenance Program:
- IA Maintenance Program (Program): an ongoing subscription service providing regular IA software updates throughout the term of coverage.
- Installation: a single installation of ASTi software products on a discrete system or virtual machine that a unique license key identifies.
- Passive Spare: a licensed backup system maintained in a nonoperational state for fail-over or replacement purposes.
- ASTi File Transfer Portal: the secure online platform that ASTi provides for software downloads and technical resources.
Product Eligibility
The Program covers ASTi systems operating Telestra, Voisus®, or SERA series software. These IA terms supplement the SWLA for ASTi Systems, and ASTi may incorporate them as a component of software maintenance agreements where applicable.
System Coverage
This section defines the scope of systems that the Program includes and the licensing structure required for multi-instance deployments.
Covered Systems
The Program provides coverage for all licensed operational systems, including the following:
- Telestra server
- Studio development workstation
- Studio virtual machine
- Voisus
- Solo™
- Comms Logger
- SERA
- CommCheck
- Redsim 2
- Any other current or future ASTi system or product line
Program coverage requirements exclude Passive Spares. ASTi reserves the right to modify the list of covered systems at any time.
Licensing Restriction
ASTi licenses each instance of the Program for use on a single instance of ASTi software products. Customers operating multiple software instances must obtain separate coverage for each instance.
Pricing and Payment
This section describes the Program's pricing model and references the governing payment terms that the SWLA for ASTi Systems establishes.
Pricing Structure
Program pricing is based on software value. Current pricing is available upon request and is subject to change with 90 days of notice for Program renewals.
Payment Terms
The SWLA for ASTi Systems and ASTi Terms and Conditions govern payment terms. The Program requires payment before the start of each coverage period.
Term and Renewal
This section explains the Program's annual subscription structure, including how customers initiate and maintain coverage from one period to the next.
Program and Term
The Program operates on an annual subscription basis from the effective date that the purchase order specifies.
Renewal Process
Customers must execute a new purchase order to renew coverage. Coverage lapses that exceed 90 days will require additional charges on top of the renewal rate to update the system to the current version.
Autorenewal
The Program does not automatically renew. The customer must actively renew the Program to maintain continuous coverage.
Software Release Schedule
Release dates for Program software are subject to adjustment based on business workday cycles, patch set schedules, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and ASTi software release timelines.
Delivery and Access
This section covers how customers receive and access IA software releases, including portal access, alternative delivery options, and the window during which releases remain available for download.
ASTi File Transfer Portal Access
Software releases under the Program are available for download from the ASTi File Transfer Portal. Customers will receive ASTi File Transfer Portal access credentials upon purchase confirmation.
Alternative Delivery
Alternative delivery formats may be available but could incur additional costs and require support contract provisions.
Download Period
Software releases remain available for download for 90 days after release notification. Customers requiring access beyond this period should contact ASTi Support at (703) 471-2104 (Option 2) or support@asti-usa.com.
Technical Requirements
This section outlines the system prerequisites customers must maintain and the testing and rollback responsibilities associated with applying IA updates.
System Prerequisites
Customers must maintain systems that meet ASTi's published minimum hardware and software requirements. IA updates may require updated system specifications, which ASTi will communicate in release documentation.
Testing and Validation
ASTi conducts internal testing of all IA releases. Customers are responsible for conducting acceptance testing in their operational environments before production deployment.
Rollback Procedures
While ASTi provides guidance for system restoration, customers are responsible for maintaining system backups and recovery procedures. Rollback support beyond standard documentation requires a separate support contract.
Customer Responsibilities
This section details the obligations customers must fulfill to remain in compliance with Program requirements, maintain system integrity, and ensure continuity of coverage.
Update Application
Program customers should apply IA updates within 90 days of release to maintain compliance with current Risk Management Framework requirements.
System Notification
Customers must notify ASTi within 30 days of any changes to covered systems, including additions, removals, or configuration changes that affect licensing counts.
Configuration Maintenance
Customers are responsible for maintaining system configurations in accordance with ASTi documentation and any customer-specific security requirements.
Backup and Recovery
Customers must maintain current system backups before applying IA updates. ASTi is not responsible for data loss resulting from updating the application.
DISA STIG Compliance
ASTi cannot anticipate all future IA issues resulting from evolving DISA STIG Category I and II vulnerabilities. While ASTi applies reasonable efforts to address all CAT I and II issues, complete mitigation cannot be guaranteed. When issue removal proves infeasible, ASTi will collaborate with customers to obtain necessary waivers and document all waived issues in the STIG Security Checklist.
Support and Communication
This section describes the support resources available to Program customers, including access channels, response time expectations, waiver assistance, and release notifications.
Support Channels
Program customers receive access to standard ASTi technical support channels, including email and phone support during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time, excluding ASTi holidays).
Response Times
ASTi will acknowledge support requests within two business days. Resolution timelines vary based on issue complexity, and the Program does not guarantee them unless a separate support contract covers them.
Waiver Assistance
ASTi will provide reasonable assistance in preparing waiver documentation for unresolved DISA STIG issues. Extensive waiver preparation or customer-specific documentation requires a separate support contract.
Release Notifications
Program customers will receive email notification of new releases when they become available.
Impact on Product Functionality
ASTi implements IA updates using industry-standard engineering practices to minimize disruption to existing products. However, ASTi cannot guarantee that IA updates will preserve all current product functionality or configuration settings. IA updates may potentially affect system hardware, customized software models, and software product line features. IA updates may necessitate operating system changes or major ASTi software updates. Remediation of ASTi product issues resulting from IA updates falls outside the Program scope and requires funding through a separate support contract.
Liability Limitations
The SWLA for ASTi Systems and ASTi Terms and Conditions govern liability limitation provisions.
